Through the eyes of the artist

After following Rachel’s career for several years, I finally got up the courage to ask her if she would speak with me about a film project I was dreaming about. She was gracious and thoughtful and curious. As she was wrapping up a residency at Corsicana Artist and Writers Residency in Corsicana Texas, we decided to spend one day making a short documentary about her work and process. I had so many ideas for what I wanted this film to be, but in the end I fell in love with the soundscape. I decided to scrap an entire interview for the sake of giving the audience an immersive and visceral experience of the artists process.
